It will be wonderful if the successful language-localization efforts be extended to the gaming arena. There are many traditional Kerala games such as Nadan Panthukali, Kuttiyum Kolum, Kiliththattu, Nooram Kolu, Eru Panthu, Mothiram, Goli etc., facing extinction. With the advent of new generation gaming consoles such as Nitendo Wii U, Xbox Kinect and Play Station Vita (new PSP),  gesture based interactive gaming has become a reality. Gaming world is no longer restricted to a handful of hard core game addicts. Innovation had made it possible for any computer illiterate to take part in a fat burning virtual gaming activity. Localization efforts initiated in tech industry by Google, Yahoo and Microsoft has helped non-Latin languages escape extinction in the virtual world. With IT being identified as the most suitable industry for Kerala, Malayalee techies should pay attention to exporting traditional Kerala games to the new age game consoles.
